Boise, Idaho - December 13, 2016 - Clēnera’s Grand View PV Solar Two is fully operational. This 108 MWdc solar facility lies on 670 acres of farmland in rural Elmore County, Idaho. Backed by a 20-year Power Purchase Agreement with Idaho Power, the Grand View solar project is expected to produce enough clean energy to provide power to more than 17,000 homes in Idaho according to Clēnera’s project manager.
Grand View PV Solar Two was among the first utility-scale projects to be brought online in Idaho’s history. While not the first solar facility in Idaho, it was the largest when it entered operations, and has redefined the future landscape of farming in Idaho.
“It is the wave of the future no matter what side of the spectrum you’re on from an economic standpoint of quite frankly making money, to doing something better for our planet,” said Clēnera’s Project Manager, Meir Cabaltera.
Construction on this 350,000 module facility was completed on September 9, 2016 by Swinerton Renewable Energy and the 300 local hires.
