A group of 17 Clēnera employees braved triple-digit heat to help give a Boise park a mid-summer face lift.
The focus of their efforts was the playground at Julia-Davis Park, one of Boise's premiere parks along the Boise River and greenbelt. Employees helped place three truckloads of fresh mulch around play structures, re-painted several bike racks, and gave the entire playground a deep scrub.
"Clēnera’s core values, ‘Caring. Committed. Courageous,' are simple and provide a framework for our culture" said Tresa Ball, VP of Talent. "As a national leader in the solar and storage industry, we are intentional in recruiting exceptional talent, then making Clēnera a home where people can build a career as well as contribute to sustainability and stewardship in our communities. This service project is a great example of demonstrating our core values right here in Boise."
The Clēnera group coordinated this community event through the Boise Parks and Recreation Department. A parks staff member was on hand to help out and ensure the job was completed well.
Those who participated in this event are part of Clēnera Women’s Group, and volunteers included team members from across the organization. This group gives women who work at Clēnera a place to connect, socialize, and organize outreach opportunities like the park clean up. As a company, Clēnera gives each employee four hours per month of paid time off to volunteer in “giving back” to their local communities, and many initiatives are focused on sustainability.
“We love our community; our kids play here, and we play here too," one participant shared. "We wanted to show our appreciation for the City of Boise by spending our morning beautifying this park. I love that Clēnera offers us incentives to volunteer in the community.”
