Financial Planning Manager

Under limited supervision, the Financial Planning Manager will work closely with both the VP and Director of Finance providing strategic financial and treasury analysis including decision support. Key focus areas for this role will include development of financial models, significant interface with development, procurement, construction, tax and legal teams on management of cash/investment needs for Clenera’s portfolio, strategic planning.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: (Position may include additional functions not listed.) *

  • Support VP of Finance and Director of FP&A with special projects as necessary; Use long term forecast models to analyze and report capital needs at corporate level
  • Judiciously assess data quality to ensure standardization of analysis and create clear, objective reports—assessing risks and benefits involved in development projects

Planning Activities:

  • Manage and enhance the cash flow forecast process (short, medium and long term)
  • Cash management and cash forecasting, liquidity planning and working capital management
  • Responsible for the development of the corporate model (cash flow and balance sheet forecast)
  • Draft financial models that predict trends and patterns in the credit market
  • Serve as primary interface with FP&A analyst and provide financial modeling support for Clenera portfolio
  • Conduct ratio, trend, and cash flow analysis of loans as well as counterparty credit analysis
  • Assists in the development of annual budget
  • Support special projects, M&A, Capital Investment, and other strategic corporate initiatives

Treasury Operations activities:

  • Oversees the daily cash reporting process summarizing the Company’s cash balances
  • Support VP of Finance and Finance Director on management of banking partners  
  • Oversight of loan compliance for a wide range of solar projects
  • Preparing, reviewing and ensuring compliance of loan agreements, internal controls and Clenera’s Treasury and Investment policies
  • Implement automated control processes  
  • Oversee the Accounts Payable function to ensure Company payments are made securely and on time
  • Manage intercompany transactions and borrowing processes, reporting and documentation with parent company  
  • Examine financial transactions and credit history on a case-by-case basis with the purpose of summarizing and communicating the information to management (applications, balance sheets, bank statements, legal documents, etc.)  
  • Oversee the Loan Compliance Analyst in assisting in the above-mentioned tasks
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: (Required knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience, etc.)

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline from an accredited college or university required
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of recent verifiable experience in a similar role required
  • Experience in energy industry and/or MBA degree is a plus
  • Strong analytical skills with focus on financial variance analysis, budget preparation and overall business financial performance review
  • Advance Microsoft Office Skills (Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Understanding of financial concepts including net present value, discounted cash flow & IRR
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with highly developed interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to effectively manage competing deadlines or projects  
  • Committed team player with the ability to develop and maintain productive work relationships  
  • Flexibility conducive to a fast-paced, growing company environment

  • Ability to work in office setting; primarily sedentary; use of normal office machines
  • Availability to work additional hours or weekends as projects demand
