Accounts Payable Specialist

The AP Specialist will support the Accounting team by performing day-to-day accounts payable tasks and projects

Primary Responsibilities:

• Perform day-to-day accounts payable responsibilities

• Perform financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting and recording accounts payable data

• Post accounts payable transactions to the general ledger

• Ensure all approvals are obtained according to company processes

• Identify, verify, and address discrepancies and resolve vendors’ billing issues

• Perform monthly bank account reconciliations for multiple entities

• Assist in monthly closings

• Responsible for vendor W-9 process

• Assemble data and information for entities such as government reports, external auditors or consultants

• Assist with audit support as necessary

• Perform support accounting tasks for accounting team

• Other duties as assigned

Primary Qualifications:

• Associate degree or equivalent coursework and/or experience

• 2+ years accounts payable experience

• Basic knowledge of accounting and financial principles

• Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records

• Basic accounting software knowledge as well as proficient in Microsoft Office, to include intermediate knowledge of Excel (creating spreadsheets and using financial formulas)

• Basic legal document knowledge preferred

• Deadline-driven with excellent time management ability

• Understands general accounting concepts

• Reliable and highly organized with a high attention to detail and accuracy

• Maintain effective judgment, discretion, and professionalism

• Effective verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills

• Committed team player with the ability to develop and maintain productive work relationships

• Flexibility conducive to a fast-paced, growing company environment
